Installing Version Forge
Install the plugin from Fab and enable it in your project.
Version Forge works as an engine plugin or as a project plugin.
Install the plugin
Get it from Fab
Purchase Version Forge on Fab and add it to your library.
Install it to your engine
In the Epic Games Launcher, open Library, find Version Forge under Fab Library, and choose Install to Engine. Pick your engine version. Version Forge supports Unreal Engine 5.6, 5.7, and 5.8.
The launcher installs the plugin in your engine's Marketplace plugins folder:
<EngineInstall>/Engine/Plugins/MarketplaceCopy it into your project
Optional, but recommended: Copy the plugin into your project so it can be checked into source control with the project and not reliant on build machines having it installed.
Ensure the editor is closed and copy the plugin folder to your project's Plugins folder (Create it if it doesn't already exist). Rename the copied folder to VersionForge:
<YourProject>/Plugins/VersionForge/Enable it
Open your project. If Unreal offers to rebuild the plugin, choose Yes. Then open Edit → Plugins, confirm Version Forge is checked, and restart the editor if it asks.

Version Forge settings now appear under Project Settings → Game → Version Forge.
Calling it from C++
While not required, if you need to call the API from C++, add the VersionForge module name to your module's Build.cs:
PublicDependencyModuleNames.Add("VersionForge");
